How is the course delivered?

The course will be delivered either at one of our community venues, or online. Please check details when enrolling.

The community venue will be in a nearby location, where you can meet people face to face and learn together in a suitably equipped classroom setting.

Online courses will be delivered on MS Teams, and you will be sent the join details and links prior to the course. You will need access to a computer, laptop or tablet device with access to the internet. All devices should have a camera, sound and a microphone so that you are able to interact with your teacher and peers during the course.

Activities for the sessions include:

Active listening and reflective discussion

Participation in individual and group/team tasks

Personal reflection and note taking

Links to recommended websites and apps will be given to aid independent learning.

How will my learning be assessed?

The teacher will use a range of activities to review learner’s knowledge throughout the course and identify any gaps and additional information required

Learners will receive feedback to further develop their knowledge

Learners will assess their knowledge at the start of the course and again at the end against the learning outcomes. This allows you to identify how much you have learnt and where you might need to do further study or research.

Learners will also be supported to set an individual target(s) for the course based on personal goals and aspirations

You will be asked to complete a record of your learning to consolidate your new knowledge. This will be done either by hard copy or online (MS Forms). There will also be some worksheets (face to face) and other written exercises. Please ensure that you have a pen and paper/notebook with you.

Additional Information

Please arrive for your class at least 10 minutes before the start to get set up, meet your teacher and other learners. If the course is online, this gives you a chance to make sure your device is working properly. The class will start on time and latecomers will miss important induction information.
