You will need to undertake an English Assessment – showcasing that you are assessed at Entry Level 3 and above. Your current situation will need to meet funding requirements, which will be explained to you at the information session, and you need to be able to commit to the full training opportunity should you be successful.

Course Overview

During the information session, you will meet College staff. We will provide all the information you need to decide about the Rail Maintenance NVQ Level 2 training opportunity we offer and the type of work available in the industry. This will be an opportunity for you to check if the Rail Industry is an environment you want to work in and whether you can commit to the training schedule. We will ensure that you are suitable for the programme, support you to access funding and you will undertake an English assessment to ensure you are prepared for the demands of the Level 2 course. We will cover ID requirements, track days and information regarding the Drug and Alcohol Medical screening that takes place on the programme.

What will I learn?

You will learn if this is the right course for you and want to work within the Rail Industry, if funding is available to you and if you can commit to the full-time NVQ Level 2 Railway Maintenance Programme

How is the course delivered?

This will be a group conversation with College staff about eligibility and expectations. It is a Q & A session to ensure this is the right course for you.

How will my learning be assessed?

You will undertake an English Assessment during the IAG session and there will be further discussions to arrange funding/loan to cover your course fees.

Additional Information

Any unspent convictions or ongoing investigations must be declared at the welcome and enrolment stage and the online declaration form must be completed and approved by our Safeguarding Team before attending and IAG session or College site.
