Course Overview

Do you find that your mood sometimes dips and you can be left feeling low or fed up? Especially over the past year? This short session aims to give you some snapshot techniques that you can implement and practice further at home, which will help improve your mood and lift your spirits. We will discuss what causes low mood as well as trial some practical techniques to help combat this. The course is a one-off session delivered over 1.5 hours.

What will I learn?

This short session focuses on the self-care aspect of wellbeing alongside elements of the 5 Ways to Wellbeing: Give, Connect, Take Notice & Keep Learning. There will be some practical activities, including some short movements. Please tell your tutor if you are unable to partake in these. There will also be learning activities to complete over the two weeks.

By the end of the session, you will be able to:
– Identify what can cause low mood
– Participate in techniques to combat low mood and identify what you will take forward to further improve your wellbeing
– Choose appropriate progression opportunities

The course will be delivered live and learners will be supported to work through the course content. Other activities include:

How will my learning be assessed?

The teacher will use a range of activities to review learner’s knowledge throughout the course and identify any gaps and additional information required :

• Learners will receive feedback in order to further develop their knowledge
• Learners will assess their knowledge at the start of the course and again at the end against the learning outcomes. This allows you to identify how much you have learnt and where you might need to do further study or research.
