Course Overview
This course is designed so that learners can develop their knowledge and academic skills needed to progress on to the Access to Higher Education Diploma (Level 3).
The course offers the opportunity to gain the knowledge and understanding of business in areas such as assessing own suitability for creating a business, the legal requirements which need to follow when starting and running a business as well as building and using social media to promote a business.
What will I learn?
Learners will develop skills in a range of business areas such as: – Understanding how business works (organisations, structure, culture) – Communication skills relevant to business settings – Working with others / teamwork, customer service, digital skills – Managing own performance and improvement
How is the course delivered?
The course will be delivered face to face. Learning will be undertaken within lessons where you will be required to create a portfolio of work. The portfolio which will include a range of assessment methods such as written assignments, observations, practical activities, presentations and work booklets.
How will my learning be assessed?
Progression on the course is closely monitored through regular one-to-one meetings with class teachers, who provide academic feedback and support to help learners meet their targets.
In addition, learners have dedicated sessions known as ADPT (Academic Development, Progression and Tutorial) where they can discuss overall progress, set personal goals, and address any challenges affecting their studies or wellbeing therefore ensuring each learner receives both academic and personal support throughout their journey.
Additional Information
Alongside completing this course, you will be required to attend lessons for Maths and English to obtain a Grade 4 (Grade C) or Level 2 Functional Skills at a Pass., if you don’t already have these.
