Course Overview

The NCFE Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of Cyber Security course is ideal for those who wish to develop their knowledge and understanding of Cyber Security beyond the basics of E-Safety. Ideally, learners should have already completed the Level 1 qualification in Staying Safe Online and Cyber Security or have some knowledge of Cyber Security. You will learn more about advantaged Cyber Security including common threats and maintaining cyber security

What will I learn?

The course covers a range of topics and themes focussed on Cyber Security. The 6 units you will complete are:

· Introduction to cyber security
· Understand terminology used in cyber security
· Understand legal and ethical aspects of cyber security
· Understand common threats to cyber security
· Understand methods of maintaining cyber security
· Working with others in cyber security

How is the course delivered?

The course is delivered online, with learners completing 6 units to complete, followed by an assessment. As this is a fully online course, with online resources and submission of assessments you will need to access the course materials and complete the assignments on a laptop or PC rather than a mobile device.

How will my learning be assessed?

Your tutor will mark submitted work to ensure it meets the criteria for each of the 6 units. You will have the opportunity to resubmit your work, following feedback from your tutor, until the criteria as been met. Each unit has several tasks and questions, which follow on from the course content. You will need to pass each of the 6 assessments to achieve the qualification.

Additional Information

The course is 12 weeks long with an assignment due every 2 weeks. You will largely work at your own pace but will be set deadlines for completing each unit.
