This course is suitable for most ages and abilities; including beginners to intermediate. You will complete a written initial assessment to help your tutor to understand your current level of knowledge on the subject. In order to attend the course, learners should be able to follow verbal and written instructions in English at Entry Level 3 and above. If the course is delivered online learners will also need a basic level of IT skills.

Course Overview
Meditation has long been regarded as a beneficial technique to help calm the mind and body to improve wellbeing. This two-hour session introduces participants to the fundamentals of meditation. Learners will receive a practical hands on experience of the benefits of meditation and explores simple meditation techniques that can be built easily into daily life. Learners will leave with clear understanding of how meditation can be a valuable tool for enhancing well-being and managing stress
What will I learn?
This is a practical and interactive course. By the end of the course, parents/carers will be able to: • Explain what a meditation practice is • Describe the benefits available from meditation • Participate in a meditation session • Reflect on your experience of the session • Plan how you will use the techniques in your life • Choose appropriate progression onto further learning
How is the course delivered?
Learners attend the live classroom session in the venue and time allocated. The session will be delivered live and learners will be supported to work through the session content. There will be practical participation elements and group/individual discussions/reflections. There is also a written element to the sessions to capture learning.
How will my learning be assessed?
During the session you will have the opportunity to discuss your progress with the teacher and feedback will be provided to allow you to further develop your skills. You will also be encouraged to provide course feedback to your teacher and take part in end of course evaluation. You will be asked to assess some key skills at the beginning of the course and again at the end so you are able to clearly see the progress you have made.

Learners will be completing MS forms and/or handouts. These resources can be emailed by the teacher prior to the course or session. You will be asked to complete: • Learning mats / MS forms to document your learning during the course. • Course hand-outs as appropriate
