We couldn’t do what we do at Lancashire Adult Learning without our partners. Every year, we work with organisations large and small to bring learning closer to where people live, work and feel at home. Together, we make sure adults from all walks of life can access opportunities that feel welcoming, local and relevant.
You’ll find Lancashire Adult Learning in all kinds of places – from community centres, libraries and faith venues, to workplaces, schools and specialist training sites. Our partners help us remove barriers by offering familiar spaces, trusted networks and insight into the people they support, so learners feel confident to take that first step. At its best, partnership means learning is not “one-size-fits-all”. It’s shaped around local need – whether that’s helping someone back into work, supporting families to learn together, building digital confidence, improving wellbeing or helping employers grow and retain talent.
Learning at the heart of local life
Smaller community organisations play a huge role in our work. Groups like Pendle Women’s Forum help us reach people who might not otherwise see learning as “for them”. By working together, we can offer courses that fit real lives – with the right timing, location, language support and wraparound help – in a place where learners already feel safe and supported.
These partnerships mean our programmes don’t just arrive in a community; they grow from within it. We listen, co-design and adapt, so learning responds to local needs, cultures and ambitions – building confidence, connection and opportunity.
Skills for Real Jobs
We also work closely with larger training bodies and employers to deliver courses that lead directly into work. This includes our railway training partnerships, where learners can gain sector-specific skills, safety knowledge and the confidence to step into a new industry.
By combining our teaching expertise with our partners’ specialist facilities and industry insight, we can offer training that feels real, hands-on and aligned to genuine job opportunities. Learners see a clear route from the classroom to the workplace – and employers benefit from a pipeline of prepared, motivated candidates.
Whether it’s a small community group or a national training provider, every partnership has the same goal: opening doors for adults across Lancashire. By working together, we can reach more people, offer more choices and make lifelong learning a real possibility for everyone.
If you’re an organisation interested in partnering with Lancashire Adult Learning – from hosting a course to co-designing a programme – we’d love to talk.
